Message Board — Topic-Based Team Discussions

2 min read

The Message Board is a shared discussion space inside the portal where team members and clients can post topics and reply to each other. Unlike the Discussion tab (which is a single private thread), the Message Board is organized by topic and works more like a forum.

How It Works #

Anyone with access to the portal can create a topic on the Message Board. Others can reply to any topic. Topics remain visible to everyone in the portal.

Creating a Topic #

  1. Open the portal and click the Message Board tab.
  2. Click New Topic.
  3. Enter a title (up to 200 characters) and your message.
  4. Click Post Topic.

The topic appears at the top of the board.

Replying to a Topic #

  1. Click on any topic title to open it.
  2. Type your reply in the field at the bottom.
  3. Click Post Reply.

Replies are shown in chronological order (oldest first).

Pinning Topics #

Admins can pin important topics to keep them at the top of the board. Pinned topics always appear first, regardless of when they were posted.

To pin a topic: open the topic and click the Pin button. Click again to unpin.

Only administrators can pin or unpin topics.

Unread Tracking #

When a new topic or reply is posted, all other portal members are marked as having unread activity. A badge on the Message Board tab shows unread topics. Opening a topic marks it as read for you.

Searching the Board #

Use the search field at the top of the Message Board to search topic titles and content. Results are ordered by relevance and limited to 50 matches.

Pagination #

The board shows 20 topics per page. Click Load more to fetch additional topics.

Enabling or Disabling the Message Board #

The Message Board can be turned off globally under Settings → ClientPress → Features. When disabled, the tab is hidden from all portals.
