Branding a Portal

2 min read

Each portal can have its own accent color, logo, and icon. Per-portal branding overrides the global defaults set in your theme customizer, so you can give each client a personalized experience.

Accent Color #

The accent color is used for buttons, active states, and highlights throughout the portal. It helps the portal feel tailored to the client’s brand.

To set a portal’s accent color:

  1. Open the portal in your WordPress admin.
  2. In the portal editor sidebar, find the Accent Color field.
  3. Enter a hex color value (e.g., #E63946).
  4. Save the portal.

If no accent color is set on the portal, the global default from Appearance → Customize → Portal Colors is used.

Logo #

The logo appears in the portal’s header navigation, replacing or complementing the default site logo.

To upload a portal logo:

  1. Open the portal in your WordPress admin.
  2. In the portal editor sidebar, find the Logo field.
  3. Click Upload Logo and select or upload an image from your media library.
  4. Save the portal.

Logo tips:

  • Use a horizontal or square image for best results in the portal header
  • PNG with a transparent background works well on both light and dark backgrounds
  • Recommended height: 40–60px (the portal header will scale it appropriately)

Portal Icon #

The portal icon is a small image used as a thumbnail or favicon within the portal context.

To upload a portal icon:

  1. Open the portal in your WordPress admin.
  2. In the portal editor sidebar, find the Icon field.
  3. Click Upload Icon and select or upload an image.
  4. Save the portal.

Global Default Colors #

If you want to set a default accent color that applies to all portals (unless overridden), go to:

Appearance → Customize → Portal Colors

From here you can set:

  • Default Accent Color — applied globally to any portal without its own accent color
  • Portal Background — choose to inherit from the theme or set a custom background color for all portals

Changes made in the Customizer are live-previewed so you can see the effect before publishing.
