ClientPress includes several appearance options to control how portals look and feel site-wide. These are found under Settings → ClientPress → Appearance.
Powered By Pill #
The “Powered by ClientPress” pill is a small branding element that appears on all portals. You can enable or disable it and control exactly where and when it shows.
Enabling or Disabling #
Check or uncheck Show “Powered by” pill to toggle it on or off.
Position #
Choose where the pill appears:
- Lower Right (default) — Fixed floating pill in the bottom-right corner of the screen
- Lower Left — Fixed floating pill in the bottom-left corner
- Footer Bar — A full-width strip pinned to the bottom of the page
Hide on Screen Sizes #
You can hide the pill on specific screen sizes while keeping it visible on others:
- Mobile — Up to 480px
- Tablet — 481px – 1024px
- Desktop — 1025px and above
Select any combination. Leaving all unchecked means the pill is visible on all screen sizes.
Tab Icons #
Each portal navigation tab has a configurable icon. You can change the icon for any tab from a library of 23 options.
Configurable Tabs #
Overview, Dashboard, Discussion, Tasks, Calendar, Board, Tools, Files, Deliverables, People, Hubs, Docs, Guides
Changing a Tab Icon #
- Go to Settings → ClientPress → Appearance
- Find the Tab Icons section
- Click the icon you want for each tab
- Save settings
Icons are rendered as inline SVGs and scale cleanly at any size.
Portal Layout Widths #
Control the content width for each portal view globally. These are your site-wide defaults — individual portals can override select views.
- Portal (Overview) —
portal_width - Discussion —
discussion_width - Message Board —
message_board_width - Files —
assets_width - Docs —
docs_width - Calendar —
calendar_width
Options for each:
- Inherit — Uses your theme’s default content width (recommended starting point)
- Full Width — Stretches edge-to-edge inside the portal
- Narrow — Constrained reading width, good for text-heavy views
See Setting Portal Width and Layout per View for details on per-portal overrides.
Global Portal Colors #
The default accent color and background color for all portals are configured in the WordPress Customizer, not on the Settings page.
To set global portal colors:
- Go to Appearance → Customize
- Open Portal Colors
- Set the Default Accent Color and optionally a custom background color
- Publish
Individual portals can override the accent color in the portal editor.
