The revision system in ClientPress gives clients a structured way to request changes to submitted work, while giving your team clear tracking of how many revisions have been used and what feedback was given.
How Revisions Work #
- Your team uploads a deliverable and marks it In Review.
- The client reviews it and clicks Request Revision, writing notes about what should change.
- The deliverable status becomes Revision Requested.
- Your team makes the changes and uploads a new version.
- The deliverable resets to Pending, then back to In Review when ready.
- The process repeats until the client approves.
Each time the client requests a revision, the revision count increments.
Setting a Revision Limit #
You can set a maximum number of revisions a client is allowed to request. This can be set:
- Per deliverable category — under Settings → ClientPress → Deliverables, each category can have its own revision count
- As a global default — a fallback revision count that applies to any deliverable without a category-specific limit
The client can see their remaining revisions displayed on each deliverable.
Buying More Revisions #
If a client runs out of revisions, you can provide a link for them to purchase additional revisions. This is configured per deliverable category under Settings → ClientPress → Deliverables → Buy More Revisions Link.
When set, a button or link is shown to the client when they have used all their allowed revisions.
Viewing Revision History #
Every version of a deliverable is tracked. Click on a deliverable to see its full revision history, including:
- File name and version number
- Who uploaded each version
- Upload date and time
This gives you a complete audit trail of how the deliverable evolved.
Uploading a New Version #
After a client requests a revision:
- Make the necessary changes to the file.
- Open the deliverable in the portal.
- Upload the new version.
The new version becomes the current file, and the deliverable status resets to Pending. Previous versions are preserved in the revision history.
