Every major feature in ClientPress can be turned on or off globally. When a feature is disabled, its tab is hidden from all portals and clients cannot access it.
Where to Manage Features #
Go to Settings → ClientPress → Features.
Available Feature Toggles #
Portal Tabs #
- Discussion — The private messaging thread between team and client
- Message Board — The topic-based shared discussion space
- Task Manager — The task list and kanban board
- Calendar — The calendar view of task due dates (sub-option of Task Manager)
- Task Status Tracking — Four-stage statuses: To Do, Up Next, In Progress, Complete (sub-option of Task Manager)
- Files — The file upload and sharing library
- Deliverables — The formal work submission and approval tab
- Tools & Links — The curated link and resource board
Deliverables Options #
- Revision Tracking — Whether clients can request revisions with a count limit
- Default Revision Allowance — How many revisions clients get by default
- Global Buy More Link — A URL shown to clients when they’ve used all their revisions
- Deliverable Categories — Named groups (e.g., Design, Copywriting) with per-category revision limits
Portal Navigation #
- Portal Landing Tab — The first tab clients see when opening a portal
- Hide Hubs tab when empty — Hides the Hubs dropdown if a portal has no child portals
- Hide Docs tab when empty — Hides the Docs tab if no docs are assigned to the portal
- Hide Guides tab when empty — Hides the Guides tab if no guides are in the portal’s category
How Disabling a Feature Works #
- The tab is removed from the portal navigation immediately
- Existing content (tasks, files, messages, etc.) is preserved in the database
- Re-enabling the feature restores access to all existing content
- Clients see no error — the tab simply disappears
Per-Portal Exceptions #
Global toggles apply to all portals. There is no per-portal way to enable a feature that’s been disabled globally. However, some features have per-portal settings (like allowing client file uploads) that layer on top of the global switch.
