Deliverable categories help organize submitted work by type and let you set different revision allowances for each type of deliverable. You can also control what happens when a client runs out of revisions.
Where to Configure #
Go to Settings → ClientPress → Features → Deliverables.
Global Revision Default #
The Default Revision Allowance sets how many revisions a client can request on any deliverable that doesn’t have a category-specific limit.
Set it to 0 to allow unlimited revisions with no limit enforced.
Global Buy More Revisions Link #
If you sell additional revision packages, you can add a URL here. This link is shown to clients when they have used all their allowed revisions, giving them a way to purchase more.
This is a fallback — individual categories can have their own buy-more link that takes precedence.
Deliverable Categories #
Categories let you name and organize deliverable types (e.g., Logo Design, Website Copy, Social Graphics) and assign each one its own revision rules.
Adding a Category #
- Go to Settings → ClientPress → Features → Deliverables
- Click Add Category
- Fill in the fields:
- Name — The display name shown to admins and clients (e.g., “Logo Design”)
- Revisions — The revision limit for this category. Leave blank to inherit the global default.
- Buy More Link — A URL for purchasing additional revisions for this category. Leave blank to use the global link.
- Save settings
The category’s slug is generated automatically from its name and cannot be manually edited.
Editing a Category #
Click into any field in the category row and update the value. Save settings when done.
Deleting a Category #
Click the × button on the right side of the category row. Save settings to confirm.
Note: Deleting a category does not delete existing deliverables that were tagged with it. Those deliverables will simply no longer have a category assigned.
How Revision Limits Are Applied #
When a deliverable is uploaded and assigned a category:
- If the category has a specific revision count — that limit is used
- If the category has no specific count — the global default is used
- If the global default is
0— unlimited revisions are allowed
The client sees their remaining revision count on each deliverable throughout the review process.
